My Art Skills History

I thought I would share this little tale people are always asking me if Iam in art school or something and my response is always no. I have had not including elementary school I have had a total of 3 art teachers over the years my middle school art teacher who just seem to think everything I made was gold. my high school teacher who was a bit more firm but he also liked me he was harsh when need but overall good. and then there was my graphics art teacher I had senior year high school now this class I had no idea it was digital art and at the time I was nor skilled in that field like Iam now but she really liked me as well hell I got the same treatment here as I did in middle school. now as for my art skills Ive been doing portraits since 2007 I think and I would say that Ive improved a whole lot I didn't start doing cartoony styles like Mason and Leela until about 2012 Ive heard story's of art teachers saying that you should not start with a cartoony art style if you do not real faces proportions. but to me its like draw what you love and just because some asshole teacher scolds you for drawing in a certain way dose not mean that you should give up. if an art teacher told me they hatted the way I drew Mason and Leela I would be shattered because this is my style for drawing cartoons I look at some of my favorite tv cartoon creators and if you look at all there works like comparing Simpsons and futurama you can tell they were both created by the same person because the styles are the same with a few tweaks. I really don't know what to say I guess his all comes from a video I watch were someone explained a similar story about the teacher hating your drawing style I know this probably makes no scenes
